Community, Growth & Optimism
February was a big month in the studio as I completed two 5x6 foot paintings, the largest scale I have worked in to date. I couldn’t be more excited to share that one of these paintings was commissioned by Greenville’s new AC Hotel to hang in the breakfast area of the lobby. I’m incredibly honored to have my work included in this permanent collection of over 100 pieces of original art by more than 30 local artists, many of whom I am fortunate to call friends. It’s so exciting that this beautiful space was thoughtfully designed in a way that truly invests in local artists and the community that makes Greenville what it is.
As an abstract artist, words have become an important tool for me in guiding what I want my work to convey. With the creation of these pieces, I kept 3 words in mind: community, growth and optimism. “Holding This Dream For You” can be spotted and enjoyed by all visitors of the AC Hotel.
Created in sync with each other was another 5’x6’ landscape oriented piece. I’m thrilled to share that “Oh How It Shakes the Ground” was added to a beautiful collection in a French Provencal Estate on the escarpment between North Carolina and South Carolina. This stunning home boasts incredible architecture, design and art. I feel so honored that my work was selected as a special piece that would compliment the beauty right outside.
